COOL TIES TO GERONIMOS IN IRAQ
“In the last package I sent some of those cooling neck wraps w/the beads in them that absorb water and stay cool for hours. We used them when the kids and Dave and I hiked the Grand Canyon one VERY hot summer (July, what were we thinking???) and they were pretty effective. I thought it was worth trying again. If I find out they work, I’ll send more. I also found a link where you can buy the supplies (enough for aprox. 50) and sew them yourself if so inclined.
DUSTIN’S FRIENDS ATTEND COURTNEY’S GRADUATION FROM DENISON COLLEGE
I leave on either Wed. or Thurs. am to go to Courtney’s graduation. Dave will fly up on Fri. Courtney doesn’t know it, but two of dd’s best friends from home are flying up to OH for her graduation to stand in for Dustin. They’ve decided to be her big brothers now. They stop over every few weeks to see us and check in with her online every few days. I know this has been hard on them, also.
JUDY DONICA ATTENDS TEXAS MEMORIAL RESOLUTION FOR DUSTIN
May 4, 2007 by Patricia Harless( Texas State Representative District 126) at the State Capitol in Austin, TX.
The memorial resolution for Dustin in Austin, TX was very nice. I had no idea they were going to have me up on the dias, behind the speaker and podium, for the reading of the resolution.
Then they had members of the House come up off the floor to meet me after the resolution.
And, they took a picture. When they first told me, I got a little teary and shaky, they told me I didn’t have to go up there but I said I needed to for Dustin. We also received a TX flag w/ certificate honoring Dustin.
We now have 4 American flags (incl. 1 from the capital in Washington), 1 AK flag, and 1 TX flag. But the flag that means the most to me is the small TX flag that came back with his dogtags and ring from Iraq.
Talk to you later. Say hello to everyone.”
Love, Judy
